On Thanksgiving day, the families of the parish kindly prepared a traditional thinksgiving meal for us as an opportunity to thank us for the work we came to do and to make us feel welcome and at home during this holiday season. The effort the families put into cooking the “exotic” dishes for us, to the smiles and cheerful company they selflessly gave that evening was hearwarming and comforting for us, especially as we begin to feel a longing to be with our families during this time of the year. This evening was an occasion on which hospitality, one of the qualities the people of Mexico possess from which I have learned so was shown- their selfless display of charity in even the smallest things is a beautiful example of the love and joy we share in a community united in the love of our good Lord. To those that assisted in any way, thank you for your generosity, kindness, and warmth!
God bless you all,
