It’s been several weeks since we last updated this blog. There have been many changes since the last post. I left Guadalajara for three weeks to spend Christmas and New Years with my family in Seattle, and Juliann finished her volunteer work and left before Christmas to go back home to her family. Stephen finished his work as a volunteer the first week of January and left as well. I continued to volunteer my time until the end of January and then transitioned to teaching English in two different companies, enabling me to stay in Guadalajara for a little longer.
Speaking for all of us, we are so grateful for the prayers, money, and support that was given to us, allowing us to have an incredible experience of living and serving abroad. It changed all of us, and it would not have been possible if it wasn’t for your support and aid. Father Daniel Heenan, FSSP, assistant pastor at Nuestra Señora del Pilar, once told us that “some give by going, and others go by giving.” How true! You all participated in our work here with your help. Thank you–muchas gracias a todos!
The volunteer program at Nuestra Señora del Pilar will not end there, however. A young man from Tulsa, OK, will be arriving next week and spending almost a complete year serving at the parish. We all look forward to welcoming him here to this beautiful community.
Blessings to you all, and you are continually in my prayers, as I live and work here. Have a beautiful and blessed Lent!
Rose, Juliann & Stephen
